Summer STEM Camps Held at Stanford University

Digital Media Academy was originally founded in 2002 as part of Stanford University’s School of New Media. Today, our Summer STEM Camps are still the perfect place for kids, teens to explore STEM topics like coding, robotics, and music production all while experiencing college life on the Stanford campus. Our Summer STEM Camps are designed with 21st-century skills in mind – with a focus on teaching creativity, collaboration, and communication to elementary, middle school, and high school students. Students will learn to work with their peers while exploring different approaches to problem-solving.

We offer the widest variety of STEM summer courses at Stanford, taught by the best instructors Silicon Valley has to offer. Kids & teens can learn photography while exploring the university grounds or program a robot to do laps around the Hoover Tower. Whatever they choose, they’ll come away with unforgettable memories, friends from all over the world, and a big step towards their future.

Last year, Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education independently researched Digital Media Academy’s Tech Camps and their impacts on student outcomes and attitudes towards technology education. Click the button on the right to download the complete report.

Stanford University Campus Facts

Founded in 1885, Stanford University has been a prominent institution for learning and research in the Silicon Valley, giving rise to numerous advancements in science and technology. Leland Stanford, a railroad magnate and politician, was responsible for a series of stop-action photographic experiments on how horses run that led directly to the invention of motion pictures. These “movies” were filmed in 1878 in a barn on Stanford’s campus. This cutting-edge research has been part of Stanford’s legacy ever since. Stanford was one of the first nodes for ARPANET, a predecessor of the internet. The students and staff that have walked on this campus have gone on to develop companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Google, Sun Microsystems, Netflix, Electronic Arts, and more! Stanford has influenced so many prominent innovations and research, that the school continues to be among the world’s leaders in humanities, sciences, and engineering.
